It’s not often that people think much about their bathroom walls, and what to do with them. In general, most people opt for the practical option of just tiling or painting. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with a simple painted wall or some white subway tile, but with a little bit of creativity, you could easily spark some personality into your bathroom.
There are so many ways you can boost your bathroom’s style with a simple and easy wall décor upgrade. Some of the following tricks only require a few small changes, and others can be a little bit more involved, but each of them will make your bathroom look everything but uninteresting.
It may seem like a 50’s or 60’s idea, but hanging up some great looking wallpaper can make a bathroom look super cozy and homely. Pick a dramatic pattern and don’t look back, most people don't expect to see wallpaper in a bathroom, always resulting in eye-catching appeal.
Make sure that you choose a spot in your bathroom that isn’t bound to get soaked (like behind the shower) – instead, opt for a backsplash behind the washbasin or even behind the toilet.
The fun part about decorating your bathroom is that it is usually completely separate from the rest of your house’s style and décor. Which means your bathroom walls can be a fun place to bring in a vibrant color or some intriguing humorous murals. Opt for a massive painted mural or a big decal which will appeal to young and old alike. Chat with a mural artist to get something completely unique and original done for you, or of course, you could try wall decal stickers for a similar bold look but with a much easier DIY option.
Use something in your bathroom as a wall feature that wouldn’t normally be found in the bathroom. An antique room divider in the corner next to your freestanding bathtub , or a stack of old wine crates, salvaged and repurposed as a wall feature. This is one idea that you can really roam free with, search online for antique auctions and decide on something that reflects your style and personality. Most things can be worked into the bathroom as long as it’s been properly fixed to the wall and waterproof varnished for protection from water splashes
